Artist: Bobo Stenson, Frederik Ljungkvist, Mats Eilertsen, Thomas Strønen Four musicians playing five pieces of jazz, originals aswell as long-time standards: Mon Cherry (Mats Eilertsen), Beatrice (Sam Rivers), Tonus (Bobo Stenson), Rica (Mats Eilertsen) and Very Early (Bill Evans). The all over sound is unique: minimalistic, open and calm. What else would you expect to hear from the top of the Norwegian jazz scene? This is the first release of this band on Challenge Jazz, but there's more to come! The band was invited to play at the Oslo Jazzfestival in Jakobs Church, 8th.of August, 2001. This album is a live registration of this fabulous concert, and mixed and mastered by Jan Erik Kongshaug at the well-known Rainbow Studios in Oslo. The band will have a tour in Europe in April with probably again many fabulous concerts: a better release presentation of this beautiful album couldn't be hoped for.
