Over het album

This CD could be thought of as a companion set to our previous issue entitled “Bring on the Girls”(RTR 79060), which consisted of 24 tracks by various women singers who were not Jazz singers per se but were quite happy with a variety of jazz accompaniments. Here it’s males who are in the spotlight..

Some of these male singers were very well known in their time and recorded quite a lot. Of others one can find very little. These recordings are, all put together a unique musical document of the late twenties and beginning of the thirties of the 20th Century. Through this music history stays very much alive!
