Over het album

To accompany the highly successful exhibitions in Washington and Amsterdam of paintings by Jan Steen, the great 17th century Dutch painter, this album was recorded, named "The Musical World of Jan Steen". The playing of music which can be seen on almost every one of Steen's paintings, can now finally also be heard in performances by the world famous Utrecht ensemble Camerata Trajectina. Performances that are as passionate and authentic as the paintings themselves.
