Kate Liu – Third Prize and Best Mazurkas at the 17th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition.

The second disc in our series of portraits of the most interesting figures from the most recent edition of the Competition: an album by the winner of the 3rd Prize and the Polish Radio Prize for best performance of mazurkas. The release contains a selection of the solo works performed by the pianist at her recitals during the first three rounds.
The Blue Series is an exceptional series of recordings that has been realized by The Fryderyk Chopin Institute since 2010, and constitutes a presentation of musical portraits of the most interesting personalities from the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competitions in Warsaw over the years. The laureates of the 17th Chopin Competition will represent a special attraction of the series.
